THE RAIN GODS OF PATTAYA
Well, it is not exactly the rainy season yet, the official date for that begins after the Buddhist Religious Festival, Asharna Bucha Day, which ends on 12th July. Here in Pattaya, however, the rain gods have taken no notice of the date, and have already began dropping their watery tears by the bucket load all over the area. Even though construction work is going on to boost and build up local canals and waterways, this has caused, of course, flooding and traffic holdups as the highways quickly build up with water making them take on the appearance of Venice canals. Sadly for beach vendors, many tourists are keeping away from sunbathing on the beach and staying around the pools of their hotels instead. One thing is for sure is that it is going to get wetter and wetter over the next few days. News stories placed on this website are short versions.
